LET THE MUSIC PLAY
Is it even physically possible to listen to this song without dancing?
I can sit perfectly still through plenty of things. A lecture, a boring conversation, an airplane flight, even dinner with people I don't particularly like. I have developed coping mechanisms. But put on Shannon's Let the Music Play and suddenly my body begins negotiations with the music.
This is what music it suppose to do. Some songs make me think. Some make me remember someone. Some make me want to sing along. This one seems to make sitting down feel like a personal insult. What else am I supposed to do, eh? Sit there looking dignified?
That would put me in the same category as people who clap when the airplane lands. I've never understood that. The plane has landed. That is what it was supposed to do. Nobody claps when the elevator reaches ground level. Do they? So yes, I dance.
