LOOKING FORWARD

I have said it before and I will say it again: We are capable of great beauty, unspeakable darkness, and everything in between. Through all my life, I have realized that, it's always people who cause the most uncomfortable situations, the most pain, the most destruction. But then again, it is also people who cause the most incredible moments in life. Beautiful, kind souls that make life easier, more enjoyable, more meaningful.

I know it is a challenging idea, while at the same time, it does resonate with many universal truths. I don’t keep tabs, but if given the opportunity, I would sincerely look forward to reading _ with gusto _ the obituaries of the awful people I know have done terrible, unthinkable things.

GAIN AND LOSS

To be human is to exist in an endless dance between extremes. We realize that we could either be amazed or be horrified by the constant struggles of staying alive. For some it's a daily miracle, for others, is a relentless war. But either way, we all have to balance the noble, the flaws and the shameful that resides within, even when we are not aware of it. We live in a world that had allowed us to create a society where one person's gain, is another's loss.

Human behavior is a song written by Bjork, a song that explores with humor and accuracy, the unpredictable, emotional, and sometimes irrational nature of humans _ mostly from a kind of outsider or animal’s point of view. I'd like to share the lyrics with you.

THE GOOD OF PEOPLE

The compassion and love in humans is unquestionable, especially when tragedy strikes, and when it does, something remarkable happens: People connect in ways we might never have imagined. Seeing strangers helping each other, forges our humanity to the surface, compelling others to do the same. Indifference is transform into awareness. It's in the moments of need when people come together. Tragic events force our differences to vanish into thin air.

I'd like to think that most people are decent, it is impossible to reach and help everybody all the time, and that is why people are excellent at small random acts of consideration. It is all really very simple, nothing dramatic, just ordinary people choosing not to make each other's day worse. When that act of kindness comes from a sincere place, _ rather than desperately looking to be nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize, the deed is much more valuable and honest. Thanks to everyone who’s making things better and changing lives, well done!

THE BAD WITHIN

On the other hand, humans are capable of stepping into dark areas in life. These areas are full of people with inflated, yet fragile egos. They would say one thing but meaning the opposite, all the while making everybody around responsible for their own failures. They have the need to control everyone. They wish nothing more but self promote their vices as if they were virtues without any shame.

Hatred is ingrain in their minds because they are afraid people would know their weaknesses. Consequently, they do not take the chance to understand others who believe and act unlike them. Clinging to feelings of superiority, they despised people that look different. Their personal lives are a mess, full of insecurities they want the world to pay for it. They simply don't care about the human rules by which we operate. They dare citing religious verses to justify a behavior contrary to what their god asks of them. I for my part have a specific massage to them: "Fare forth and fornicate thyself".

THE UGLY DARKNESS I CANNOT IGNORE

When people disregard the suffering of others, turning it into a reality show, a spectacle for their own advantage is morally vile. They belong in the deep "basket_ full of deplorables". The thirst for power and absolute control over others blinds the little common sense remaining in their true self, trying hard in the process to exploit, to manipulate, to deceive, to destroy.

While they're busy destroying everything in their path, dehumanizing others, another kind of ugliness lurks nearby - when people choose to look away from this pain and suffering, instead of stepping in. That dreadful stillness that allows injustice to continue unchallenged, cause as much harm.

Of course, it's easy to think the ugly as external, as if it's something that lives outside of us. Something foreign. That's far from the truth. In fact, the sweet honey, the murky dirt and the hot shit alike, baking under the sun, are traits well-known in the human race. These three elements are a force used for or against others. If they are refer by what they are, and never sugar code their meaning, helps to avoid confusion.

LET US HOPE

Yet, that moment, when people choose to embrace wrongdoing, proves to be problematic for everyone. In the end, our job is to acknowledge all three, the good the bad and the ugly, trying with all consciousness to cultivate only the good. Facing with courage the vile acts in the world, I have something to say to those who despite everything, continue embracing bad and calling it good: "When you die, I’d spit on your grave, laugh and walk away"

Well, there it is, my two cents on the matter of virtue, flaws and cruelty. If you are listening to my music composition, I'd invite you to try and be kind to all, let go of all your flaws and go to therapy if cruelty is your idea of fun, have an exorcism if you must, or just go and get laid for Pete's sake! . Accept the unfairness of life. When you do, I guarantee, you would feel free and, oh so alive!. Let us hope, we all choose good over ugly.
